Salon deposits, attached to the booking.
A payment link is a request, not a receipt. Polissh separates deposits requested from money received, so your team knows what the client has paid and what remains outstanding.

Request a deposit however the client books
For online bookings, collect a required deposit through your connected salon PayFast account. For a booking you add yourself, open the appointment and request a deposit link. The client can pay without creating a salon-owner account.
Wait for verified payment
Sending, delivering or opening a link does not count as payment. Polissh uses verified receipts to work out the deposit received. When the required amount has been received, the appointment can be confirmed under your deposit rules.
See the balance at a glance
For example, a R1,200 service with a R360 deposit has R840 left to pay. Appointment details show the received amount and outstanding balance together. Checkout uses that same appointment, so the deposit stays connected to the client's visit.
Handle exceptions honestly
An owner, manager or receptionist can confirm an eligible appointment without its required deposit. This is recorded in the appointment's permanent activity history. It does not create a payment, increase sales or clear the balance. A manual confirmation is not a payment.
Keep your payment terms clear
Tell clients the amount due, when it is due, and your cancellation and refund terms before they pay. PayFast processing fees and settlement terms belong to your merchant account; they are separate from Polissh's monthly subscription.
Common questions
- Where do client deposits go?
- They use your salon's own connected PayFast account, separate from Polissh subscription billing.
- Can I request a deposit for a phone booking?
- Yes. Add the appointment and request a deposit from its details.
- Does confirming without a deposit mark it paid?
- No. It records a booking exception, not money received. The unpaid amount remains outstanding.
